Later, members of the House Brian Fitzpatrick and Jared Golden proposed an alternative version of the bill on assistance to Ukraine and Israel with tightening measures to protect US state borders. The document provided for the allocation of more than $66 billion to the Pentagon, of which about $47 billion was intended for Kyiv, and $10 billion and $5 billion for Tel Aviv and the countries of the Indo-Pacific region.
On April 20, the US House of Representatives passed a bill to provide aid to Ukraine. The preliminary amount planned to be allocated for these purposes will be $61 billion.
The document was supported by 311 congressmen, and 112 opposed it. The bill will then be sent to the upper house of Congress. If approved by American senators, the document will be submitted to the head of the White House for signature.
