Morocco dismantles IS recruitment cell
[IsraelTimes] Morocco has announced the dismantling of a cell involved in recruiting Moroccans to go fight with the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

Friday's statement by the Interior Ministry said the cell was led by an elementary school teacher and based in the central city of Fez. Seven people were tossed in the calaboose
You have the right to remain silent...
Police have already dismantled several other recruitment networks over the past few months, most based in Fez.

The ministry says there are 1,212 Moroccans fighting with holy warrior groups in Iraq and Syria, mostly for the Islamic State group. Authorities have expressed fear that Moroccans fighting abroad may return home to carry out terrorist attacks.

Further assassinations in Benghazi
[Libya Herald] Assassinations are again on the rise in Benghazi after a brief respite. Two people were murdered today after Friday prayers.

Tariq Misrati was killed just after he left the Omar Ben Abdulaziz Mosque in Majouri district when a bomb placed under his car went kaboom!. His body was taken to the Benghazi Medical centre.

Across town, the imam of the Argam Ben Abi Al-Argam mosque in Ras Obeida was killed at much the same time when gunnies waiting in a car shot him as he was leaving the mosque. Hit in the head as well as the stomach and hand, Sheikh Akram Saleh Al-Drissi died instantly. His body was also taken to the BMC.

The reasons for both killings are unknown, as are the perpetrators.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
Drissi was a Salafist and a number of Salafist sheikhs have been murdered, allegedly by krazed killers, because they condemned the miltants' violence.

In Misrati's case, he was a civilian. But this is not the first time his family have been targeted. In July last year, his brother, Colonel Jumaa Misrati, was also killed in similar sicumstances when a bomb attached to his car blew up. In his case, Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
was suspected. He was a member of military intelligence and had previously been working in Kufra but had just submitted a report to the General National Congress detailing the activities of Ansar and attacks in Benghazi.

On Wednesday, a policeman who has been named as Anwat Misrati (not thought to be related) was killed when gunnies shot him in the city's Hijaz Street and then fled.

Although all three killings are assumed to be politically motivated and may be linked to the expected offensive by Operation Dignity in the city, much of the violence and crime in Benghazi is about money.

Last night, a gold dealer was murdered in the city's Al-Thama district. Omar Salah Al-Senussi, 48, was shot multiple times by gunnies who then stole money that he was carrying.

10 bank accounts identified for financing militants
[Dhaka Tribune] Bangladesh Bank has identified 10 accounts of private banks that were used for transacting large amounts of money suspected to have been used for financing murderous Moslem activities, including purchase of weapons and organising subversive activities.

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) at Bangladesh Bank recently sent a 90-page report on its findings to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for investigating the account details and bringing the perpetrators to book. The DMP later passed on the report to the Detective Branch of police for further investigation.

Sheikh Nazmul Alam, deputy commissioner of the DB police, said procedures were under way to take action against those who were responsible for financing murderous Moslem activities.

L.A. Is 'Epicenter' Of Cartel Money Laundering, U.S. Official Says
[LATimes] Federal agents launched a series of raids in the downtown Los Angeles fashion district on Wednesday and seized an estimated $65 million in cash and other assets they allege were part of a widespread attempt by Mexican narco mobs to launder narcotics profits.

in raids targeting 70 locations, many of them businesses in the fashion district.

Federal officials said they believe the drug organizations have used numerous businesses in the garment district to convert their vast earnings into pesos, turning Los Angeles into a hub for "trade-based money laundering."

"Los Angeles has become the epicenter of narco-dollar money laundering with couriers regularly bringing duffel bags and suitcases full of cash to many businesses," Robert E. Dugdale, the assistant U.S. attorney in charge of federal criminal prosecutions here, said in a statement.

Wednesday's seizures included piles of cash and money stashed in bank accounts around the world, federal authorities said.

Agents with the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement infiltrated several peso brokerages operating in Los Angeles, officials said. The undercover officers delivered bundles of cash, sometimes shrink-wrapped in grocery bags, to storefronts in the fashion district, even telling business owners that the money came from drug trafficking.

Operations that launder drug money through legitimate trade have soared since Mexico restricted the use of American dollars in 2010, forcing the cartels to convert their dollars to pesos without tipping off authorities.

Act of Jihad in America? Radio Host Says Teen's Murder Was 'Domestic Terrorism'
[FOXNEWSINSIDER] There's growing outrage that a possible act of jihad in the United States is being ignored. 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin was shot to death in New Jersey in late June.

Authorities later charged Ali Muhammad Brown with murder. After his arrest, Brown said his motive was Dire Revengeâ„¢ for U.S. actions in the Middle East. This led to New York-area radio host Todd Pettengill sounding off on what he sees as an act of domestic terrorism.

"If there was ever a reason to riot in the streets in the name of humanity, it would be for this case. But has that happened? No, and I'm not suggesting that it should. ...This should be talked about and written about and the American people should know. Why's Eric Inaction Jackson Holder
... aka Mister Fast and Furious...
not visiting the Tevlin family? Why is the president not going to mention Brendan Tevlin tonight?" Pettengill said Wednesday on WPLJ's "The Todd Show."

Martha MacCallum, who has highlighted the Tevlin case on America's Newsroom, spoke to Pettengill about what he thinks should happen as a result of Tevlin's death.

Pettengill said he may not have heard about this story if his daughter hadn't been friends with the Tevlin family.

"Where is the outrage for a young man, 19 years old, who was killed because he was an American? That's it. There's no two sides to this story," he lamented.

MacCallum said initially, people wrongly assumed that Tevlin was killed buying drugs, but it turned out there was no drug-related element to the crime.

"Now we know that he was targeted because he was a white man alone in his car," she noted.

MacCallum pointed out that Brown is the suspect in three other assassinations. She noted that it looks like a case of "serial terrorism."

Pettengill said he reached out to the family to make sure they were OK that he speak on his show about his outrage over the killing.

"This kid was murdered because he was an American and that's where the story should begin. That's where the discussion should take place. Because domestic terrorism is here. It happened in New Jersey," said Pettengill.

Pettengill asked people to call attention to the murder on social media using #BrendanTevlin and visit the Facebook page dedicated to Tevlin's memory.

So where has the national media been on this story? "Outnumbered" took on that question this afternoon.

Iraq
Defeat for Isis as Iraqi troops take Barwanah
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Iraqi forces retook a key strategic town from Islamic State forces of Evil today in a victory that has been hailed as a possible turning point in the fight against jihadis overrunning the country.

Barwanah, in Iraq's Anbar province, has been gripped by vicious fighting for months since IS fighters overran the region last December.

But yesterday, after American warplanes carried out strikes in the area, Iraqi troops finally broke through IS defences as part of a major operation to wrest back the province from the clutches of the krazed killer horde.

The news came as key Arab allies vowed to 'destroy' the Islamic State 'wherever it is' and do more to stop radical jihadists journeying from their homelands to join the 'holy war' waged in Iraq and Syria.

And in a further boost to the fight against IS in Iraq and Syria, La Belle France today pledged to join America's Arclight airstrike campaign as president Francois Hollande

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Family Attacked On Way To Western Wall
[Ynet] Ramat Gan family recovering from near lynch attempt after Arabs threw rocks, bricks at their car when they took a wrong turn on the way to a Golani swearing-in ceremony in Jerusalem.
Boys being boys...
A family from Ramat Gan narrowly escaped a lynch attempt on Thursday evening when they made a wrong turn and entered the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Wadi Joz, where rioters threw a volley of rocks and bricks at the vehicle they were travelling in.

The family had been on their way to a swearing-in ceremony of the Golani Brigade at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

Fortunately, the father was the only one to sustain injuries, which were minor. This past week, riots have been taking place in the Arab neighborhood after residents heard that a local youth had died of wounds suffered in a clash with Israeli police last week.

"I'm still in shock from the experience we just had, we were almost lynched," Eti, the mother of the Cohen family said in tears on Friday, speaking with Ynet.

"We were miraculously saved. I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was cry hysterically, not believing that we're home and that we're fine. I saw the pictures and couldn't believe we were there and that it happened to us," she added.

"We arrived at the area of the Western Wall at around 6:15 pm. Since we're not from Jerusalem, we used a navigation system that told us to take a right -- so we turned right. We were fine for the first few seconds. My daughter served in intelligence, and she reads and speaks Arabic," the mother explained.

"Suddenly she said 'that's funny, everything is in Arabic,' and then I started to panic. We were on a narrow street and people began looking at us with faces that read 'why did you come here? What are you doing here?' I then told my family 'we're not supposed to be here.' My daughter who was driving the car became nervous and we decided to try to leave quietly'.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the Cohen family seemed to have inadvertently driven into a pre-planned ambush. "There were two vehicles driving in front of us. Suddenly, a boy of about 12 years of age approached the window of my husband, who sat on the left side.

"I told my husband 'don't open the window,' and the boy began to knock on the window while we were driving," Cohen recounted the frightful moments of the attack.

"My husband opened the window and at the same moment we heard shouts on the street," she added, explaining that they had then noticed that three cars were blocking their movement.

"They just stopped for no apparent reason and then the bricks started flying. The first one hit the windshield and shattered it -- it was a shock. I couldn't believe this was happening to us."

"Then, another rock broke through the window of my husband who was sitting behind my daughter who was driving, and hit him in the face. A third brick went through the broken rear windshield and hit the headrest of my son's friend who had joined us."

The family's quick thinking helped them escape what could have been a much more serious incident. "My daughter initially put the car in parking position, but then she came out of her shock, stepped on the gas pedal, and drove on the sidewalk to pass the cars that had blocked the road. She was driving on the sidewalk while I was with the police on the line, simply screaming."

"Everyone in the car was screaming. We felt fear. I told the police operator that we don't know where we are or how we get out of here."

Cohen added that after telling the operator the name of the street where they were on, she had warned them not to drive through it because it was dangerous. "I just prayed to see something Jewish; an officer who then took the call told us to drive through the valley, and after a few minutes we saw Border Police officers."

Sharing her feelings earlier Friday morning, Cohen stated that the event ended in a miracle. "The car is smashed, but that's alright as long as we are in one piece. My daughter is suffering terrible trauma. My husband is a little maimed in the face but it will pass in a day or two.

"I look at my children and say thank you that that they are here with me," Cohen said. "It's important for me to warn people not to enter the area. The GPS just takes you there, so people have to be careful."

Commenting on the incident, police said that troops and patrols will be reinforced at East Jerusalem main roads, adding that its forces are working towards locating and arresting the rioters.

Police arrest 6 after East Jerusalem riots
[IsraelTimes] Six Paleostinian protesters were placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
Friday following festivities with police in two different locations in East Jerusalem.

Three were arrested after they hurled stones and firecrackers at police forces near the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City.

Following Friday prayers at the al-Aqsa mosque, several masked men began charging at a border police post near the entrance to the Temple Mount. The rioters were blocked by Waqf forces, and the three demonstrators were subsequently arrested. They were transferred to a nearby cop shoppe for questioning.

Later, police apprehended three protesters for similar offenses in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

Also on Friday, Likud MK Miri Regev urged police to take a tougher stance against rock-throwing in the capital.

"The security situation in Jerusalem is a disgrace," Regev wrote in a Facebook post, following a tour of East Jerusalem's neighborhoods.

"In recent months, there has been a significant increase in incidents of the throwing of stones and Molotov cocktails at the cars and homes of Jews."

"This situation in Jerusalem must change, the public security minister should allocate more security forces in East Jerusalem," she said, adding that she would work to pass legislation aimed at increasing jail time for stone throwers.

Earlier this week, Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said Jerusalem's security forces were to get reinforcements to combat a continued rise in violence. Aharonovitch did not provide details about the type of reinforcements the city would receive in the wake of violent riots in the capital, following the Sunday death of an East Jerusalem teen shot by police during a demonstration last week.

Riots broke out Sunday after Muhammad Abd al-Majid Sunuqrut, 16, died of his injuries after he was shot during festivities in Jerusalem with Israeli security forces a week earlier.

The intense protests included rock-throwing and the ransacking of a French Hill gas station.

On Monday, festivities broke out again in Shuafat and Wadi Joz following Sunruqut's funeral.

According to a new report by the Shin Bet security service, violence in Jerusalem has risen dramatically since the murder of Paleostinian teenager Muhammed Abu Khdeir by three Jewish Israelis in July and the start of Operation Protective Edge in the Gazoo Strip.

In July, there were 83 security incidents in Jerusalem, compared to just 11 in May and June.

Bombs kill four in southern Thailand
Two timed explosions killed four people and injured six others Thursday at a municipal office in southern Thailand.

Police Col. Kampanat Panichprasert said an unknown number of suspected militants first opened fire in front of the Makrud Municipality building in Pattani's Kok Pho district but the gunfire didn't hurt anyone. After the insurgents fled aboard a pickup truck and a motorcycle, the two devices exploded, five minutes apart from each other. The blasts killed three municipality officials and one civilian and injured six people, including three rescuers who had rushed to the scene.

Authorities said there were shootings at two other local administrative offices in Pattani province, but there weren't any casualties in those attacks.

Islamic State destroys Sufi shrines in eastern Syria
[NEWS.YAHOO] The hardline al Qaeda offshoot Islamic State has destroyed several Sufi Moslem shrines and tombs in the eastern Syrian province of Deir al-Zor, a monitoring group said on Saturday.

The Sunni Moslem group, which enforces a strict interpretation of Islamic law in territories under its control in Iraq and Syria, has destroyed dozens of shrines, tombs and Shi'ite Moslem mosques.

Syrian Troops Capture Key Central Town
[IsraelTimes] Government forces have captured a central Syrian town that has changed hands several times during the civil war, the military and activists said Friday.
There's a cute little map at the link, with a pin marking the town in question. Click in the headline to go there, dear Reader.
By retaking the town of Halfaya in Hama province, troops will be better positioned to defend nearby Christian and Alawite communities that support Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Light of the Alawites...
. Central Syria is a communal patchwork, with large communities of Christians, Ismailis and Allawites, who mainly back Assad, himself an Alawite, and fear Sunni turbans among the rebels.

The al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front is known to be active in Hama province and has been behind attacks in recent weeks on the historic Christian town of Mahradeh, which is west of Halfaya.

The latest victory by government forces came two days after President Barack Obama
My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it...
said for the first time that he would authorize US Arclight airstrikes in Syria against the Islamic State group. Syria has criticized Obama's move because it was excluded from a coalition coming together in the battle against the bully boy group.

The army command said in a statement that the offensive aims "to wipe out Death Eaters in northern parts of Hama." It added that "a large number of bad boyz were potted in the fighting, many of them imported muscle."

Rami Abdurrahman, the head of the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of activists inside Syria, said Halfaya was captured by the army on Thursday.

Abdurrahman and a Hama-based activist who goes by the name of Yazan Shahdawi said the army offensive was commanded by one of Syria's best-known officers, Col. Suheil al-Hassan, who is also known as "The Tiger."

Al-Hassan is said to be one of Assad's favorite soldiers. In May he led a force that was able to lift a months-long siege imposed by rebels on the central prison of the northern city of Aleppo, Syria's largest city and onetime commercial center. Last year, his forces captured the strategic town of Khanaser between central regions and Aleppo.

The army's next target appears to be the rebel strongholds of Kfar Zeita and Morek, which are on the highway that links Hama with Aleppo, Shahdawi said.

Syrian state media and activists said in April that Kfar Zeita was subjected to a poison gas attack that maimed scores of people. The government and the rebels blamed each other for the attack.

Also on Friday, the Observatory said the corpse count from government air raids on the Damascus suburb of Douma rose to 42, including seven children.

Abdurrahman said several funerals were held in the suburb on Friday amid intense shelling by government forces.

I solve this dilemma by rooting for Assad on the odd-numbered days and for The Other Guys (who seem to be some sort of ever-changing pick-up team) on the even days. Given the back and forth nature of this conflict, this strategy seems to work well. Go, Pencil Neck!

Bulldozers Stolen by Jihadists in Arsal, Taken to Mountains
[AnNahar] Jihadists seized several bulldozers from northeastern town of Arsal and took them to its outskirts on Friday, reported the National News Agency.

Militants from al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State groups destroyed the equipment of three stone-crushers, owned by Mohammad Alawli, Mayor Milhem al-Hujeiri and Hani al-Hujeiri.
How very odd. Was it just to be mean, or do they intend to carve the slogan on their flag in giant sweeps on the very earth of the Syrian/Iraqi desert floor itself, for the pleasure of their bloodthirsty god?.

13 Syrians Held in Dekwaneh as Army Raids Tyre Refugee Encampment
[AnNahar] Thirteen Syrians were tossed in the calaboose
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
Friday in the Beirut suburb of Dekwaneh as the army raided a Syrian refugee encampment in the southern city of Tyre, amid a continued crackdown that had started after the Arsal battle.

"Dekwaneh municipal police and members of the Internal Security Forces raided Syrian refugee gatherings in Ras al-Dekwaneh and Slaf Street," state-run National News Agency reported.

"Thirteen Syrians were arrested and cellphones and computers were seized," NNA added.

Earlier in the day, the agency said the army raided a Syrian refugee encampment in Tyre near the Bassel Assad Cultural Center.

It did not report any arrests.

Six Syrian suspects were apprehended on Thursday at places inhabited by Syrian refugees in the northern district of Koura.

The army also carried out raids on Thursday evening at the Abra and al-Alayli Syrian refugee compounds in the southern city of Sidon without arresting anyone.

Earlier on Thursday, troops carried out raids in the Keserwan area of Faraya "in search for runaways" and inspected "suspicious locations," according to NNA.

On Wednesday, a number of Syrian refugees were arrested during army raids in the southern Jezzine region.

Govt air raids kill 42 near Damascus
[ARABNEWS] Syrian government air raids on a rebel-held area near Damascus killed 42 people, including seven children, a monitoring group said Friday.

Thursday's strikes were carried out in Douma, a satellite suburb northeast of the capital that has been under siege for more than a year.

"The toll from regime air raids on Douma has risen to 42 dead, including seven children and two women," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which on Thursday had given a corpse count of 17.

Among those killed were an unspecified number of rebels who have been fighting to oust the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Scourge of Qusayr...
for more than three years, said the Britannia-based group.

Activists posted videos on YouTube showing the destruction caused by the raids in Douma, a frequent target of deadly strikes.

People could be seen carrying the charred remains of victims amid scenes of panic as firefighters battled to put out blazes in several buildings.

Lebanon, Syria armies fight ISIL on border
[Iran Press TV] The Syrian and Lebanese armies continue making gains in the battles against the Takfiri

snuffies in the strategic al-Qalamoun region, Press TV reports.

The two armies have been battling the ISIL Takfiri bully boyz on both sides of the Syrian border with Leb.

As the Syrian army expands its offensive against the krazed killers, there are growing concerns about the Takfiris seeking to invade Leb.

Violence erupted in eastern Leb in August after soldiers placed in durance vile

a Syrian man who the army said confessed to belonging to the ISIL. Angered by the arrest, the Takfiri bully boyz opened fire on army checkpoints and stormed a cop shoppe in a border area.

Following truce negotiations with the ISIL krazed killers, they agreed to retreat from the town and freed some prisoners but still keep many in captivity and, so far, they have beheaded two Lebanese soldiers.
