Al Shabab executes four teenagers in Barawe
Barawe (RBC) The Al Qaeda-linked militant group Al Shabab executed four young men in their stronghold town of Barawe late on Monday after alleging them to be spying for the Federal Government of Somalia and security agencies.

Unnamed Al Shabab judge has ordered the execution of the four men who were arrested by the group's Amniyat unit after alleging them to be spies working for the government of Somalia.

"These men have admitted that they were spies working for the Intelligence unit of the apostate government" the unnamed judge said through voice speaker.

The four young men Hassan Haji Awoow, 27, Mahdi Hassan Isse, 26, Iidle Mohamed Hassan 18, Ahmed Mohamed Adan, 42 were all executed by a masked firing squad of Al Shabab fighters.
So one of them was a teenager, if barely.

Well known local cleric assassinated in Beledweyn town
Beledweyn (RBC) Unidentified armed men have shot and killed a well known local cleric in Beledweyn town, Somalia's central region of Hiiraan on Monday night, locals said.

The gun men entered a mosque in the city centre where they have shot and killed the cleric Wardi Salah shorty before the Evening Prayer started, n elder Ali Mohamud told RBC Radio.

The assassinated cleric was the Mua'zin of the mosque where his hooting took place.

The full mosque turned into empty place after the shooting as the insiders begun to flee in shock after the attackers started shooting the Mu'azin giving the assassins, believed to be two young men armed with pistols a situation to escape from the area.

#4  I'll sing of a row down in Beledweyn town,
Where a couple of shorties shot the muezzin down.
'Twas the meanest, Beledweyniest thing that you saw,
When those kids stormed the mosque and shot Wardi Salah.

Will Allah shed tears for the yelper he chose?
For his falsetto shriek and that thing on his nose?
The wee bastards killed him; all he'd done to them
Was to try to become their best Islamic friend.

Here's to two gallant persons now hotly pursued --
Mohamed, Muhamad, Maxamed, Maqdoud?
And here's to old Wardi, whose final hurrah
Was facing their pistols for love of Allah.

The police may not catch them before my song's end,
The honour of Islam to hold and defend,
But they'll wail mournful ballads in local patois,
Playing sweet Muslim music for them, inshallah.

Here's to Baladweyne, and to her renown;
Though they drink muddy water, it's my kind of town,
Where the next cleric craving a menage a trois
Will settle for playmates who baaaa, by Allah!

Islamist-allied militias in Libya reject UN talks
Islamist-allied militias in control of the Libyan capital and the country's top religious body on Tuesday rejected U.N.-led talks that have called for a cease-fire in the battered nation.

The announcements reflect the difficulties facing the U.N. envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon, as he tries to broker a truce amid a deep polarization that has left Libya torn between two rival governments and parliaments.

The statements followed the first round of U.N.-brokered talks between Libya's rival lawmakers held Monday in an attempt to bridge the gap between the warring groups.

Egyptian Court Jails 68 Muslim Brotherhood Supporters
[Ynet] An Egyptian court sentenced 68 Moslem Brüderbund supporters to jail terms on Tuesday, judicial sources said, in a case related to deadly violence a year ago after the army's ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.

All were found guilty of killing 30 people and intending to kill others in Cairo on October 6, 2013, when more than 50 people died in festivities across the country between Mursi opponents and supporters.

Judge Mohammed Ali Al-Faqi gave 63 of the defendants 15 years in jail and five others 10 years.

Arabia
Houthis strengthen grip on Sana'a
The Houthi movement continued to consolidate its hold over Sana'a on Monday, seizing more state institutions and buildings amid an almost total absence of the Yemeni military on the capital's streets.

According to several reports, Houthi rebels, who have been in virtual control of Sana'a since September 21, sent “tens of fighters” to surround a number of buildings including the country's central bank, the state oil company and the headquarters of the country's oil ministry, as well as several other state-owned companies operating in the petroleum sector, which accounts for more than 70 percent of state revenues.

The group also announced on Monday it would be establishing a committee to receive and deal with complaints or accusations regarding any "transgressions" committed by the group's members toward ordinary citizens, in a move many observers described as an attempt to assume the role of the country's law enforcement institutions amid the current security vacuum in the country.

Australian Police Carries Out New Anti-Terror Raids
[IranPressTV] Australian police have incarcerated
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
a man in Melbourne with links to the bully boyz fighting the Syrian government forces.

The man detained, a 23-year-old, has been accused of providing money to a US citizen fighting alongside anti-Damascus bully boyz in Syria. According to authorities, the man will be charged with intentionally making funds available to a terrorist organization.

The raids come just a week after the city's police fatally shot a terror suspect who had attacked two coppers. Last Tuesday, 18-year-old suspect Abdul Numan Haider was rubbed out after he stabbed the officers outside a cop shoppe in Melbourne, seriously injuring one of them.

Australian police arrested 16 people in similar operations in Sydney two weeks ago, and accused one person of conspiring with an ISIL leader in Syria. Separate raids were also conducted in the eastern cities of Brisbane and Logan as part of the operation.

Earlier this month, Australia raised its terrorism alert level to "high," the second highest, for the first time in a decade amid the threat posed by the ISIL Takfiri

bully boyz and their supporters in Australia.

Canberra believes up to 60 Australians are fighting alongside the ISIL Takfiris, while another 100 are actively working to support the group in Australia.

Booby-Trapped Jihadist Flag Kills Three Iraqi Police
[AnNahar] Three Iraqi coppers were killed Tuesday when one of them tried to remove a black flag that Islamic State

jihadist fighters had booby-trapped south of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
police said.

Kurdish peshmerga forces backed by local police units recaptured three villages near Daquq, around 180 kilometers (110 miles) north of Baghdad, that had been under IS control since June.

Daquq police chief Kawa Gharib said coppers moved across the frontline during the fighting to take down the flag from a position the jihadists had just lost.

"One of them attempted an act of heroism and wanted to remove the black flag but when he yanked it out, he triggered a small improvised bomb," the officer said.

Gharib named him as Sherzad Abdelkader, a senior officer from the Terkelan area, southwest of Kirkuk, and added that two other coppers were also killed by the blast.

Abu Mekhlif al-Juburi, a local resident who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, said IS had booby-trapped dozens of the flags floating above its positions in the area.

"It started earlier in September when resident of Tel Ali, in the Hawijah area (west of Kirkuk), burned an IS flag," he said.

"The jihadists came back and kidnapped around 50 people from the area and then put up flags everywhere across the region, on every position," Juburi said.

Abu Mohammed al-Mifriji, village chief of Taamur near Daquq, said the jihadists had set up trigger mechanisms on the flags to kill anyone who tries to take them down.

"IS has raised hundreds of flags at its bases, positions and frontlines. Now they booby-trap them to make sure nobody can remove them," he said.

The Daquq police chief said that the use of bombs was slowing the advance led by the peshmerga.

"These people booby-trap everything: the roads, the houses and even the flags," he said.

British Jets Launch Airstrikes Against ISIS for First Time
[ArutzSheva] Royal Air Force had struggled to find targets at first, as Islamic State

forces avoid presenting target; Kurds capture key border town.

Britannia conducted its first Arclight airstrikes against the Islamic State terrorist group (IS) in Iraq Tuesday, as part of international efforts to support local Kurdish, Shia and Iraqi government forces push back against the jihadi advance.

The British parliament had voted to join the US-led air campaign against IS on Friday, but Royal Air Force (RAF) jets reportedly struggled to find military targets to strike, returning without dropping a single bomb from their first five missions, according to reports.

But British Tornado jets finally found their first targets early Tuesday evening, hitting an unspecified "heavy weapons" positions, as well as an armed pickup truck, according to the Ministry of Defense. The issue appears to be the fact that IS fighters in Iraq have dispersed in response to ongoing bombing raids by coalition forces, and presenting as small a target as possible.

The UK, along with many other European nations, is limiting its part in the campaign to Iraq - where the anti-IS coalition has been invited to strike by the government - and avoiding Syria, whose embattled regime has said it would regard any Arclight airstrikes without its consent as "an act of war."

But the vast majority of IS's major assets are in fact located in Syria, which is why the US and allied Arab forces have ignored the Assad regime's demands and bombed scores of targets in the north of the country, including IS's de-facto capital, Raqqa.

Despite the delay in striking, Kurdish forces reportedly told the BBC that the RAF's efforts - which also included intelligence-gathering and surveillance - had helped them capture a key town near the border with Syria.

Kurdish forces on both sides of the Iraqi-Syrian border are facing-off against IS in fierce fighting which has reportedly claimed heavy casualties on both sides, according to local activists.

Kurdish Forces Attack ISIL On 3 Fronts In Iraq

holy warriors on three fronts in northern Iraq, military sources say.

Senior Kurdish commanders, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said Peshmerga fighters launched pre-dawn attacks against ISIL positions in the border town of Rabia situated northwest of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
early on Tuesday.

The Kurdish military officials said their forces entered Rabia and engaged in heavy festivities with ISIL holy warriors there after liberating the villages of as-Saudiyah and Mahmudiyah.

According to the military sources, Kurdish troops also launched a similar offensive in the city of Zumar in northern Iraq.

Elsewhere on the battlefield, Kurdish forces managed to liberate the villages around the town of Daquq, south of the key oil city of Kirkuk. The area had been under the control of ISIL Takfiris since June 10.

"They have liberated the villages of Saad and Khaled. The Peshmerga have taken full control of the area, following fierce fighting," Kurdish General Westa Rasul said.

Several Western states are now supplying the Kurdish fighters with military equipment and weapons. Since early August, the US military has been carrying out Arclight airstrikes on ISIL positions in Iraq.

In recent weeks, ISIL Takfiri holy warriors have suffered severe losses as the Iraqi army and Kurdish Peshmerga forces go ahead with their offensive against the Death Eaters in several parts of the Arab country.

Having taken control of parts of Syria, the ISIL terrorist group sent its holy warriors into neighboring Iraq in early June and quickly seized large swathes of the territory there.

Iraq Bombings, Attacks Kill Nearly 50
[IranPressTV] About 50 people have been killed in the latest wave of boom-mobileings and other attacks across Iraq, authorities say.

According to police, in the deadliest attack on Tuesday, a boom-mobile in the northwestern part of the capital Baghdad left eight people dead and 15 others maimed.

Seven people were killed and 21 others injured in another boom-mobileing in a different area, while a mortar attack claimed seven lives elsewhere in the capital. All of the three assaults took place in Shia-majority areas.

Earlier in the day, four civilians and two coppers bit the dust in a car kaboom in the holy city of Karbala, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Baghdad. Another 16 people were maimed in the kaboom.

Meanwhile,

Masked Palestinians throw rocks at preschool playground
[Ynet] Children take cover from incoming stones, fireworks; police arrest suspects as East Jerusalem unrest continues to rise.

Masked Paleostinian youth threw stones and fired fireworks at a complex housing a preschool Tuesday afternoon in the Mount of Olives neighborhood in a continuation of increasing incidents of violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in particular.

In a video filmed by a nearby civilian, the group of Paleostinians can be seen throwing a continued volley of rocks at a playground, causing the children to hide in a protected structure until police arrived on the scene.

The suspects were incarcerated
Please don't kill me!
soon after the incident.

Batyah Harush, a caretaker at the preschool, said, "We were in the yard and suddenly 10 masked men arrived in the area and starting throwing rocks and firing fireworks in the direction of our yard. The noise really frightened the children and they saw the masked men and panicked. So we went into a shelter and I immediately called the police."

The youth fled upon the arrival of the police. According to residents of the area, the last two months have been saturated by violence and other dangerous activity from the young Arab men who have thrown rocks, fired fireworks, and hurled Molotov Cocktails at Israeli vehicles and security forces.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
the incident at the Mount of Olives was not the only one of its kind Tuesday. In another Jerusalem neighborhood, Armon HaNatziv, an 18-year-old Paleostinian threw a rock at a residence. A glass pane was shattered in the attack. Police forces arrested the suspect.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Champ's empty building bombing campaign continues.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon is grappling with significant intelligence gaps as it bombs Iraq and Syria, and it is operating under less restrictive targeting rules than those President Barack Obama imposed on the CIA drone campaign in Pakistan and Yemen, according to current and former U.S. officials.

The U.S. military says its airstrikes have been discriminating and effective in disrupting an al-Qaida cell called the Khorasan Group and in halting the momentum of Islamic State militants. But independent analysts say the Islamic State group remains on the offensive in areas of Iraq and Syria, where it still controls large sections. And according to witnesses, U.S. airstrikes have at times hit empty buildings that were long ago vacated by Islamic State fighters.
Probably didn't take long for ISIS to figure out they needed avoid large buildings and sleep elsewhere.

" has freed more than 70 Kurdish school children its fighters kidnapped in northern Syria in May.

The "Islamic State" (IS or ISIS) group on Tuesday freed more than 70 Kurdish school children its fighters kidnapped in northern Syria in May, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, according to AFP.

The Britannia-based group said parents had reported the release of the children, who are believed to be aged between 13 and 15.

The group of 70 were among 153 school children, most of them boys, kidnapped by ISIS jihadists on May 29 in the northern province of Aleppo.

They were intercepted and taken hostage en route to their hometown of Ain al-Arab after sitting school exams in Aleppo.

They were kidnapped around the area of Minbej, which has been targeted in recent days in Arclight airstrikes by a U.S.-led coalition fighting jihadists, AFP reported.

In the weeks after the children were kidnapped, five students managed to escape and another 37 were released in batches, including the 10 girls among the group, the Observatory said.

There were no immediate details on why the group decided to free the 70 additional hostages on Tuesday, and the Observatory said around 30 more children were still being held.

Ain al-Arab, known to the Kurds as Kobane, is now a major battleground between Kurdish fighters and ISIS.

Located strategically on the Syria-Turkey border, it is the country's third biggest Kurdish town.

ISIS fighters have been advancing towards it for the past two weeks, and are now just three kilometers (less than two miles) from the town in places, according to the Observatory.

Kurdish leaders have warned of a renewed threat of genocide should IS gain control of Kobane.

U.S. and allied forces from Arab states have been bombing IS positions in Syria since last week, after the U.S. expanded its air campaign against the terrorist group; until then the operation had been focused on blunting the Islamists' advances in only Iraq.

While Arclight airstrikes in Iraq - coupled with a ground coalition made up of Kurdish Peshmerga forces, Iranian-backed Shia militias and the Iraqi army - have succeeded in slowing down and even halting IS's advances there, Arclight airstrikes in Syria appear to have been ineffective thus far.

Mortar Shells Hit Turkish Border Town, Three Hurt
At least three people were injured after a mortar shell fell on a house in the southeastern Turkish town of Suruc on Sunday, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency reporters in the area.

A total of three mortar shells struck Suruc, which is just kilometers from the Syrian border. The two other shells landed in a vacant field.

The three people injured are currently being treated in Suruc State Hospital.

Turkish border security force artillery retaliated in kind. It is unclear who fired the initial mortar rounds.

The incident comes as clashes between Kurdish groups and the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) militants intensified Sunday around the Kurdish-populated city of Kobani in Syria, just kilometers from the Turkish border.

US-Led Airstrikes Hit Islamic State Near Turkey
[Ynet] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group makes push for Kurdish region only to be hit by US-led Arclight airstrikes, unknown if attacks stopped offensive.

Activists say the US-led coalition has struck targets of the Islamic State group near a besieged Kurdish town along Syria's border with Turkey.

It was not immediately clear if Tuesday's Arclight airstrikes succeeded in halting the bad boys' advance on Koubani, also known as Ayn Arab.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strikes hit Islamic State fighters east and west of Kobani. The Local Coordination Committees, another activist group, also confirmed the Arclight airstrikes on the town's outskirts.

Koubani has been under attack by the Islamic State group since mid-September. Despite US-led Arclight airstrikes, the forces of Evil were able to advance toward the town over the past few days.

Militants of the Islamic State group were closing in Monday on a Kurdish area of Syria on the border with Turkey -- an advance unhindered so far by US-led coalition Arclight airstrikes, including one that struck a grain silo, killing two civilians, according to activists.

Islamic State fighters pounded the city of Koubani with mortars and artillery shells, advancing within three miles (five kilometers) of the Kurdish frontier city, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Nawaf Khalil, a Kurdish official.

The Observatory says fighting around Koubani on Monday killed 57 fighters on both sides - the town's Kurdish defenders and the Islamic bad boys.

U.S. Wages '20 Raids in 24 Hours' in Iraq and Syria
[AnNahar] U.S. warplanes kept up air raids against Islamic State Lions of Islam near a contested town on Syria's border with Turkey on Tuesday, part of more than 20 air strikes in 24 hours in Syria and Iraq, the Pentagon said.

In one of the heaviest rounds of bombing since Washington expanded its air war against the Islamic State (IS) group into Syria a week ago, American fighter jets and drone aircraft carried out 11 strikes in Syria and 11 raids in Iraq on Monday and Tuesday, U.S. Central Command (Centcom) said in a statement.

American aircraft hit IS fighters near the Turkish border in an area east of Ain al-Arab, known as Kobane in Kurdish, which has come under mounting threat from the jihadists.

Three strikes near Kobane "destroyed" an IS artillery piece, damaged another and destroyed two rocket launchers, said Central Command, which oversees American forces in the Middle East.

U.S. forces started targeting the IS group around Kobane over the weekend after urgent appeals from Kurdish leaders for help to defend the town.

In northeast Syria, U.S. forces conducted five air raids near the Iraqi border area of Sinjar, targeting an artillery piece, a tank, three armed vehicles, an observation post and four IS "fighting positions," it said.

In eastern Syria, U.S. aircraft carried out two bombing raids near Deir Ezzor, destroying an IS armored vehicle and another vehicle. And northeast of the city of Aleppo, one bombing run destroyed four IS buildings, Centcom said.

In Iraq, where Kurdish forces have launched an offensive against the IS group on three fronts, U.S. military aircraft carried out seven strikes in the country's northwest -- two near djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
dam, one northwest of Baghdad and one in west Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
according to Central Command.

The seven raids in the northwest destroyed an IS armored vehicle, two transport vehicles, and four armed vehicles while damaging another, it said.

Around Mosul Dam, two strikes destroyed an IS position and an armed vehicle. Northwest of Baghdad, one Arclight airstrike destroyed an IS armed vehicle while another strike in west Fallujah struck an IS checkpoint, it said.

All U.S. aircraft safely left the area safely after the air raids, it said.

Human rights monitors say the U.S. air raids have killed and maimed civilians in Syria over the past week but the Pentagon has said it has been unable to confirm the reports.

U.S. planes have flown roughly 4,100 sorties in the air war against the jihadists in Iraq and Syria since August 8, including surveillance flights, refueling runs and bombing raids.

#1  4100 sorties (air strikes, refueling, and surveillance) is nearly 76 per day. For comparison, 100,000 sorties were flown against Iraq during the first Gulf War during a time period of 37 days (Jan. 17, 1991 to February 23, 1991).

#2  Syrian Kurds still haven't gotten much in the way of weapons from us (the Iraqi Kurds have gotten some weapons and are mostly on the offensive against ISIS).

#3  20 air raids is a limp johnson response probably due to fear of ground to air missles or lack of FO's on the ground. Hardly worth mentioning.
