Saudi Deputy Governor Shot Dead
An unidentified gunman shot dead the deputy governor of Saudi Arabia's northern Jouf province on Monday, a Saudi Interior Ministry official said. The official told the state-run Saudi Press Agency that Hamad bin Abdel Rahman al-Wardi was driving to work when his car was riddled with gunfire early in the morning. He said the authorities were investigating the incident. The motive for the shooting was not clear.I think I'd start with the assumption that somebody didn't like him, and then see if I could add any detail... In September, a judge was shot dead in the same province as he left a mosque following Friday prayers.
