Iraq denies Basra uprising
Iraqi Information Minister Mohammad Said al-Sahhaf denied on Wednesday the uprising of Basra people against ruling regime in Iraq and called it a US lie out of their disappointment and disillusion. "Nope. Nope. Never happened. Nope..." Al-Sahhaf told the Qatari Al-Jazeera TV that the United States and Britain seek to deviate public opinion from the realities of US-led war on Iraq using psychological warfare. He stressed that Basra still resists and the invaders will learn more from Basra resistance. "I am confident that the US people will rise against their wicked rulers," the minister said.
