120,000 more US troops receive orders for Iraq war front
US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld ordered the deployment of 120,000 more troops to the Iraq war battlefront, the European edition of the American military daily Stars and Stripes reported Friday. Once the soldiers arrive, more than half of the US army and Marine Corps will be stationed in Iraq. The reinforcements will not be ready for combat for at least three weeks. The new troop contingent include the first soldiers from the heavily armored Army 4th Infantry Division, parts of the 1st Armored Division and the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment.
