'Rebel group' in Senegal attacks
 A rebel splinter group has admitted responsibility for a recent spate of attacks in Senegal's troubled southern region, Casamance. The group is a breakaway faction of the MFDC, which signed a peace deal with the government late last year. The army says renewed hostilities would mean a major troop redeployment in the region. A BBC correspondent in Casamance says people in the region have been terrified by the attacks, which are also threatening investment in the region's valuable cashew nut production.
