Soldiers wounded in convoy boom
Four soldiers and a policeman were wounded when an explosive device went off near a military convoy in eastern Chechnya, a source in the Joint Group of Forces in the North Caucasus said Wednesday. The explosion occurred at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in the Shali district of Chechnya, when a convoy of five armored personnel carriers and several trucks with Interior Ministry troops and policemen was passing by. According to preliminary data, a remote controlled mine had been detonated. An investigation has been launched and efforts are under way to find the perpetrators of the crime.
