Pak expert for trial of Bush, Blair
A former Pakistani secretary of foreign affairs, Mohammad Akram Zaki, on Sunday demanded trial of the American president and the British prime minister for war crimes in Iraq. During an interview with IRNA, the seasoned analyst accused US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair of committing war crimes against humanity. "In principle, there should be trial of these two people in the International Court of Justice as they are the killers of innocent people in Iraq without any legal or moral justification," Zaki firmly said. "Of course, at present they are crazy with their military might, but the day will come when the international community will rise to demand that Bush and Blair be tried for war crimes. What the US-led forces are resorting to in Iraq, a country that has already suffered so much from sanctions imposed over the last 12 years, is to subject innocent Iraqi men, women and children to more suffering," the analyst said.
