Dagestani power station boomed
 A bomb exploded at an electric-power substation in Russia's Republic of Daghestan today, but caused no deaths or injuries. The Interior Ministry said the explosive device went off in the middle of the night at a substation near the town of Khasavyurt, which is close to the internal border with war-ravaged Chechnya. The same substation came under fire from a grenade launcher late last month in what the head of the regional power company, who is also a Daghestan government official, called part of a failed plan to mount a series of terrorist attacks on Khasavyurt.
