Sixty years ago; sixty years from now
Sixty years ago today, on August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, killing approximately 140,000 people in the first use of a nuclear weapon in war. That's a sobering thought with today's Rantburg news being filled with stories on North Korea's nuclear program, Iran's nuclear progran, Pakistan's missile development, etc. Where will we draw the line with this new axis of evil? Will we draw the line? Who will be the victors when the people of 2065 look back to these times?
