'Women barred in 45 UCs in NWFP, complaints sent to EC'
 Aurat Foundation Regional Director Rakhshanda Naz said on Saturday that the foundation had verified agreements between 45 union councils, religio-political groups and elders in various NWFP districts to bar women from voting during the local council elections. Ms Naz told Daily Times that the foundation's current responsibility was to highlight the issue and put it before the authorities concerned. "The foundation has sent written complaints about the issue to the district returning officers, NWFP Election Commission and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for legal action.
