It may well be that in 80 or 100 years' time, it will seem obvious that, let us say, the humiliating withdrawal of American troops from Baghdad - which is bound to happen - was the first crucial step in the diminution of American power. When I saw the title, I was expecting a discussion of porous borders, increased voter fraud, and Hawaii. Instead we get just another recitation of the European wet dream.
