Bush takes responsibility for federal response to Katrina
WASHINGTON - US President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he takes responsibility for the federal government not doing its job in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina hitting the US Gulf Coast.
Wonder if Gov. Blanco has the stones to do this. | âKatrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government,â Bush said at a press conference in a rare admission of fault. âAnd to the extent that the federal government didnât fully do its job right, I take responsibility.â
Bush added that while he will not âdefend the process going inâ to the disaster area, he would âdefend the people who are on the front line of saving livesâ.
