Aris to get Air Cover
The Pentagon has notified the U.S. Congress of a possible $3.1 billion sale of 40 F-16C/D fighter aircraft to Greece, a Defense Department agency said Oct. 26. The Greek government requested the fighter aircraft along with an assortment of related equipment and weapons, including four AGM-154C Joint Standoff Weapons and six satellite guided Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs). The agency put the value of the deal at up to $3.1 billion if the sale is concluded. âThis proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the military capabilities of Greece and enhancing weapons system standardization and interoperability with U.S. forces,â the Defense Security and Cooperation Agency said.
