Lankan military commander shot dead
 Unidentified attackers shot dead the head of a Sri Lankan army intelligence unit near his home in the capital Colombo on Sunday, police and army officials said. Four people were detained for questioning after the authorities found major TM Meedin, 39, shot in the head near his home in the Kiribathgoda suburb of Colombo, police said. âWe are questioning four people, but it is too premature to speculate as to who was responsible,â local police chief Asoka Wijetillake said.
