POLICE in north-eastern Iran have launched a new morality drive by confiscating alluring mannequins from boutiques and clothes stalls in the bazaar, authorities in the city of Bojnourd said yesterday.A spokesman for the city's judiciary said that the drive would help tackle problems of "public chastity". Some 65 mannequins have so far been impounded. He added the crackdown was part of a wider offensive against anti-social behaviour such as vandalism.
