District election official killed in Chechnya
Chairman of the Shovkhal-Berd village elections commission Isa Temirgirayev has been killed in Chechnya in a first attack against organizers of the Chechen parliamentary elections, officials with the republic elections commission told Interfax.The Chechen Interior Ministry and head of the Nozhai-Yurt district authorities Vakha Magamgadziyev have confirmed this information. Magamgadziyev said, citing reports from Shovkhal-Berd, that unidentified assailants shot Temirgirayev dead on Wednesday evening. An investigative team set out to this mountainous village at dawn.
