MMA to resist change in Islamiyat
 The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) will resist any attempt by the government to delete the method of prayer from school curricula, said Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, on Thursday. Rehman said he had been shocked when he heard Education Minister Javed Ashraf Qazi say the method of prayer would be removed from the Islamic studies syllabus. This was tantamount to âattacking one of the main pillars of Islamâ, he said.He said seminaries would not register with the government unless their concerns were addressed. The MMA will not accept restrictions on the movement of clerics and their arrests and classification as criminals, he said.
