Italian Cabinet minister blamed for Libya riots resigns
 ROME - An Italian Cabinet minister blamed for sparking riots in Libya by wearing a T-shirt showing blasphemous cartoons resigned on Saturday, the news agency ANSA reported. Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli had been under increasing pressure to step down after his decision to wear the shirt featuring caricatures was blamed for the protests on Friday at the Italian consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which at least 10 people were killed.Posted by: Steve White 2006-02-19 |
