Abdullah sez al-Qaeda leaders not in Afghanistan
Afghanistans Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah has said that Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar were not present in his country.He admitted that there was a recent increase in Talibans operations "was a matter of concern for us". However, he told reporters that the security situation has improved taking into consideration that 90% of the country was under the control of Taliban and Al-Qaeda." He said that discussions between President Hamid Karzai and the Pakistani leadership concentrated on ways to stop attacks from Taliban and Al-Qaeda and to put an end to the infiltration on both sides of the border. Abdullah said that the governments priority was to form a national army that will be a beginning of a reconciliation. On the issue of cartoons offending the Prophet Muhammad, Abdullah questioned the logic of destroying infrastructure and property during demonstrations in order to show resentment.
