Car Bomb Kills Police Official in Southern Russian City
A car bomb exploded outside a government office in the southern Russian city of Makhachkala on Friday, killing one police official, the The Associated Press reported quoting local police spokeswoman. The RIA-Novosti news agency said that the blast killed one person and wounded another, but ministry spokeswoman Marina Rasulova could not immediately confirm that. She said a car exploded next to the regional office of the Emergency Situations Ministry, located in the center of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan.However, a short time later Ms. Rasulova elaborated that the blast had killed the deputy head of the ministrys criminal investigation department, Magomed Magomedov, who was sitting in a car parked next to the regional office of the Emergency Situations Ministry.
