JI denies links with Hizb
ISLAMABAD: Jamaat e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Friday denied any link with Hizbul Mujahedin.

Hizbul was placed on a US watch list of terrorist organisations in an April 30 State Department report, which described it as âthe militant wing of Jamaat e-Islami.â

âIt is absolutely wrong to claim that Hizb is a wing of the Jamaat,â Mr Qazi told reporters. âThere is no connection whatsoever and the US has made a false claimâ, he said. Hizbul is the leading outfit in a bloody 14-year old insurgency against Indian rule in Kashmir.
