Two officials remanded
 PESHAWAR: An Accountability Court (AC) on Monday sent the two government officials involved in quake relief fund scam to jail on a judicial remand. The NAB arrested Saifur Rehman, a patwari, and Mir Dad Khan, a general councillor, on March 9, 2006. They were accused of releasing money from the President's Relief Fund for earthquake victims to their relatives and acquaintances on fake national identity cards in Namli Maira in Abbottabad district. The officials were presented in the AC after the completion of their 18-day physical remand. The NAB prosecutor told the court that the bureau had completed its investigations and the accused were no longer required for investigation.Posted by: Fred 2006-03-28 |
