Roadmap to nowhere...
Iran yesterday blasted the roadmap as an unworkable ânew hardshipâ for Arabs and Palestinians. âThe road map is a new hardship for Arab countries and Palestinians, and, considering the Zionist regimeâs policies, the execution of this plan is not possible,â Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi said.
| "Bring us a plan!" they kept whining. "We want our own state!" Now they've got a plan, that'll lead to their own misbegotten state, and they don't like it. |
A hard-line Iranian paper also labeled the plan a âroadmap to nowhereâ, and called on Palestinians to reject the internationally-sponsored peace plan and continue armed resistance. Kayhan newspaper said the hawkish Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharonâs acceptance of the plan was a âtactical moveâ to buy time for a state it said was âan illegal entity that ought not to exist on the map of the Middle Eastâ.

âThe roadmap has nothing to offer and leads nowhere. All it seeks is to legitimize the occupation of Palestine by the Zionist migrants from Europe,â the paper said.
