Khaddam says UN Hariri inquiry will convict Syria
 Syria's former vice president Abdel-Halim Khaddam has said he was confident the US inquiry into the killing of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri would convict senior Syrian officials. "I am as sure of this as I am that the sun will continue to rise from the East," he said late on Sunday in a telephone interview from Paris, where he has been living since breaking away from President Bashar al-Assad last year.
