Septuagenarian widow buys new 22-year-old boy-toy
DHAKA - A 70-year old Bangladeshi widow bought the hand of her 22-year old groom with cash money and costly gifts, creating a sensation in the local Muslim community, a media report said on Wednesday. The marriage bonds were tied in mosque in Jalla village in the sugarcane-growing district of Jamalpur in central Bangladesh, the Bengali language daily Ittefaq said. Hundreds of local residents gathered in the village on Tuesday to witness the wedding of Sundari Begum and Bakkar Fakir.

The groomÂ’s family accepted Begum as the bride after she had given them 30,000 Bangladeshi taka, equivalent of 500 dollars, and some other valuable gifts, the newspaper said. Begum, mother of seven adult children from her first marriage, said she had fallen in love with the young man four years ago and was prepared to pay any price to win his hand.
"How much for the pretty boy? Bring him to me!"
