Liberia: 'Fire Incident Was Assassination Attempt'
The University of Liberia student leadership says it believes that the July 26 fire disaster at the Executive Mansion was an assassination attempt on the life of President  Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. The Acting President of the University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU), Martin S. Kollah said their doubts would only be cleared if a speedy investigation into the incident were conducted to establish the fact."We wish to express surprise for the unfortunate situation that visited the Executive Mansion during the celebration of our Independence Day on July 26," he said. The UL Student Leader said it was unfortunate and grossly confusing to note that fire gutted the Executive Mansion at the time when the President and some foreign guests had converged for a reception.
