Iraq hangs 27 on terrorism charges
 Iraqi authorities hanged 27 convicted "terrorists" today, an interior ministry spokesman announced. "Twenty-seven terrorists were hanged today in Baghdad. Most of them were Iraqis," said interior ministry spokesman Abdul Karim Khalaf. He said they were convicted for attacks on Iraqi civilians and sentenced to death, in an execution order signed by an Iraqi vice president.In September 2005 Iraq hanged three convicted murderers in the first executions since the toppling of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
