Canada trapped in September 10
 "The events of September 11, 2001 were a wake-up call. Not just to Americans but to all people in free and democratic nations." Prime Minister Stephen Harper, May 17, 2006. Has it been five years? The surreal September morning can't be that long ago? To put it in perspective, the children who were in their second week of Grade 8 when the towers came down will be partying this weekend as part of university Frosh Week festivities. Although where they were on the morning of 9/11 is clearly etched on everyone's minds, it has become a distant memory for many. While the prime minister calls 9/11 a wake-up call it seems many have hit the snooze button. The World Trade Centre may have come crashing down, but either by ignorance or denial many either wish or believe that Canada is living in a pre-9/11 world. It's still September 10, 2001 for many.
