Iraqi insurgents kill 15 people
 BAGHDAD: Iraqi insurgents destroyed a police station in a sustained attack with mortars and a car bomb, the prime minister's office said on Tuesday as attacks around the country left 15 people dead. The assault was launched with the detonation of a booby-trapped car near the police post in Jorf Al-Sakhr, 60 kilometres south of Baghdad. The blast and a subsequent mortar barrage killed three officers and wounded several others, said Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki in a statement that described the attack as having taken place in the last 24 hours.Posted by: Fred 2006-09-27 |
