Aziz for inter-faith understanding
 Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said the lack of inter-faith and inter-cultural understanding was a major challenge for the world.Talking to a delegation of Christian leaders from the US, UK and Netherlands, he urged them to work harder for the promotion of inter-faith harmony to make the world a better place to live in. He said minorities in Pakistan were free to practice their faith and that the government was taking all possible measures to ensure that people belonging to different faiths continued to live in peace and harmony. Emphasising the need for interfaith dialogue to promote better understanding among the people of various faiths, he said Islam encouraged peace, tolerance, brotherhood and respect for all religions. The prime minister said that minorities had been given the dual right to vote for the first time in the country's history, allowing them to vote for general seats as well as for the particular seats reserved for them.
