Qaeda men convicted for bombing US Consulate
KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday indicted two Al Qaeda activists for masterminding a car bombing near the US Consulate in Karachi on March 2, 2006 which killed four people, including US diplomat David Foy and three Pakistanis and left 48 injured. Osman Ghani and Anwarul Haq - the two convicts - however, denied the charges and pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecution, the alleged suicide attacker, later identified as Mohammad Tahir, rammed a car packed with explosives into a vehicle carrying a US diplomat soon after it left the consulate.
