10 killed in claymore mine attack in Northern Sri Lanka
(KUNA) -- As many as five soldiers and five students were killed Saturday in a claymore mine attack and a shooting in Northern Sri Lanka, while a naval battle between Tamil rebels and Sri Lankan navy also started today off the country's Northwest coast. The claymore mine was targeting a Sri Lankan army truck in Vavuniya in Northern Sri Lanka Saturday, news agencies reported from capital Colombo. As many as three students were killed and eight injured in the blast. Soon after the mine blast there was shooting, which killed two more students and injuring other students.
