Villagers just outside the eastern city of Khost, which has seen a spate of suicide bombings in the past months, became suspicious of the man and tried to capture him, also calling in the police, police officer Mohammad Yaqoub said. As police arrived, the man exploded bombs strapped to his body, he said. Yaqoub said residents had become suspicious of the man after they identified him as a Pakistani national because of his accent.
