Idiot of the Day Nomination
An Ohio businessman has allowed controversial art to be displayed in his store window before, but he's drawing the line at Nazi gingerbread men. Charlie Palmer says he's pulling the display from his hardware store in Oberlin. The artist says he deliberately picked the subject to provoke thought, not offend anyone. "Because nuthin' sez "Happy Holidays!" like goose-stepping fascists!" He put up the display on Friday after Palmer left. The store owner says he put a blanket over it once he started hearing negative comments over the weekend. Palmer says the artist won't be allowed to use his window ever again. Last winter, the same artist used the window to display a "caroler-bashing" snowman and a little boy excited about using his chemistry set to create the illegal drug crystal meth.
