11 suspected Taleban killed in clash with NATO-led forces
KABUL - Clashes between foreign troops and Taleban fighters in eastern Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 11 militants, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Wednesday.

ISAF troops discovered the militants gathering Sunday night in the Nari district and engaged them, thwarting three attempts by the militants to attack the international forces, the ISAF said. ‘Each time the enemy attempted to manoeuvre into a new fighting position, ISAF forces destroyed them with artillery and close air support,’ said Lieutenant Colonel Paul Fitzpatrick, spokesman for the ISAF’s eastern command.
Reached out and touched them.
The ISAF also reported a Taleban attack on its bases Monday night in the southern province of Kandahar. The Taleban fired rockets in the strikes in the Panjwaii district, and one destroyed a house in the town of Bazar E Panjwaiik, it said. No casualties were reported, the ISAF said.
