Husband of Afghan politician killed in Kandahar attack
 Suspected Taliban gunmen on motorbikes ambushed a female provincial councillors car in southern Afghanistan, killing her husband, police said on Wednesday. The gunmen struck as legislator Zarghona Kakar and her husband stopped at a roadside bakery in Kandahar province late on Tuesday, provincial police chief Esmatullah Alizai said. Meanwhile, one Afghan soldier was killed when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb on Monday night in the Panjwayi district of Kandahar province. Separately, NATO forces said they killed 11 Taliban insurgents in the east on Sunday.
