Judge seeks freedom for child murdering rapist
 SANTA CRUZ (AP) - The state's oldest California Youth Authority inmate was in court again in a bid for freedom.Donald Schmidt, 34, was a 16-year-old kid high on methamphetamines when he sodomized a 3-year-old girl and drowned her in a bathtub at a Lompico house where he was a guest in 1988.
