7 Taliban killed in Afghanistan
 Afghan and foreign troops clashed with Taliban fighters in southern Afghanistan on Friday, killing seven rebels in a battle involving war planes, mortars and gunfire, the US-led coalition said.Separately the coalition said it had arrested 11 terrorists in a raid in an eastern province. The day-long battle was near Sperwan Ghar, an area in Kandahar province which has seen several major clashes between Taliban and security forces. A coalition soldier was also wounded in the engagement, the US-dominated force said in a statement. The coalition said in a separate statement meanwhile that its troops working with Afghan forces had captured 11 terrorists Friday in a raid on a compound in the volatile eastern province of Khost. The raid was launched on credible intelligence and terrorist propaganda was found, it said.
