Aoun threatens 'escalation of popular pressure'
As the opposition demonstration in the heart of the capital seemed to lose some of its momentum on its sixth day, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said protests will escalate if Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's government fails to accept demands for a unity government. "If the prime minister and his camp continue to monopolize power, there will be an escalation of popular pressure," Aoun told AFP in an interview on Wednesday.
