African and Islamic Nations Shield Sudan at UN Rights Meeting

Secretary-General Kofi Annan has urged the world body's human rights watchdog in Geneva to send a clear message that the "nightmare" in Sudan's Darfur must stop, but for many of the nations considering the crisis, his appeal seemed to have fallen on deaf ears.
