64 teachers murdered in 3 years in southern Thailand
A total of 64 teachers have been killed by Muslim insurgents over the past three years in Thailand's southernmost provinces. Teachers' groups plan to hold a ceremony to remember them on Tuesday for the country's Teachers' Day.Boonsom Thongsriplai, chairman of the Federation of Teachers in the Southern Border Provinces, said Jamnong Tenmanee, a teacher of Ban Patae School in Yala, was the 64th teacher killed during the past three years of southern insurgency.
