Rice arrives in West Bank
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has given assurances that America will push towards a Palestinian state in a bid to bolster moderate President Mahmoud Abbas in his power struggle with Hamas. Speaking in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Dr Rice said: "I have heard loud and clear the call for deeper American engagement.
