Kuwait Increases Security Alert
[MENL] -- Kuwait has increased its security alert amid the threat of sectarian strife. Officials said the Interior Ministry has decided to increase the threat level over the next few weeks. They said the alert was being raised in advance of the Hala celebrations later in February. "According to instructions from the first Deputy Prime Minister and Defense and Interior Minister Jaber Al Mubarak, security authorities will be on higher alert during Hala February," an official statement said.Under the alert, Kuwait would bolster security along the northern border with Iraq.
