Four Iraqi soldiers, policemen killed in N. Iraq
(KUNA) -- Two Iraqi army soldiers and two policemen were killed in two separate attacks in the Iraqi northern city of Kirkuk on Thursday, according to the Iraqi police. A source at the police told KUNA that two army soldiers from the First Brigade, riding a civilian car, were killed by unknown gunmen in Huwaija district in Kirkuk. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, a source at the police department in Mosul, northern Iraq, said armed men shot dead two policemen at a checkpoint in southern Mosul. Despite the security plan enforced by the government in Baghdad, the attacks against civilians and military personnel continued in northern Iraq.
