Four LeT militants killed in J&K gunbattle
Four militants suspected to be members of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and two army personnel, including a captain, were killed in a fierce gunbattle in Kupwara district on Tuesday.
The gunbattle broke out at Chhotimargi-Lolab, 115 kms from here, early on Tuesday morning when militants hiding there opened fire at a joint search party of 18-Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of local police, Senior Superintendent of Police (Kupwara) Vijay Kumar said.
Four LeT militants, a captain and a soldier were killed and another personnel was injured in the gunbattle which lasted for several hours, he said. A huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
