Snake bite at Wal Mart
A 44 year old man was bitten by a snake Monday afternoon while shopping at the Wal Mart in Marana.
When you have thousands of stores and millions of employees, practically anything can happen. Speakng of cold-blooded reptiles, I understand that there are special seminars for lawyers interested in suing Wal-Mart and that running these seminars is, itself, a sizable business.
The Northwest Fire Department says the man was in the garden department at about 3:30 p.m. reaching for a bag of lava rock.
They sell this stuff? I know where there's a whole state made out of it, namely Hawaii.
That's when a 3.5 foot long Western Diamondback Rattlesnake bit him in the forearm.

EMS Captain Adam Goldberg says a Wal Mart employee at the I-10 and Cortaro Farms location killed the snake.
PETA is preparing to sue.
The man was taken to Northwest Hospital where he was treated with an anti-venom. He is expected to be in the hospital for a couple of days.

Northwest Fire Division Chief Randy Karrer said, "Those snakes are very quick right now they're coming out and they're hungry they're looking for some food."
And what better place to go than Wal-Mart? Wal-Mart has been seeking to expand its food business but I don't think is what they had in mind.
Karrer reminds people to be cautious when out at night. He recommends carrying a flashlight and a walking stick.
A 12 gauge would also be nice.
Anyone who gets bitten by a snake should try to remain calm and move as little as possible. Call 911 or get to a hospital right away.
