Major terrorist act averted in Chechnya
(Itar-Tass) -- Sappers of the military commandants office averted a major terrorist act in the highland Vedeno region of Chechnya. Servicemen found an antitank mine TM-57 1.5 kilometers of Dyshne-Vedeno, Dmitry Nikiforov, the chief of the press center of the operational headquarters of the Russian Interior Ministry in Chechnya, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. The blast of the mine containing 6.5 kilograms of TNT could lead to numerous victims among civilians on the highway with intensive traffic.
