Shopkeeper, two others shot in southern Thailand
Terrorists Presumed insurgents killed a shopkeeper and wounded two other local residents in shooting attacks in rural Pattani Thursday morning. Chanapourn Roteweerawong was shot dead at her drugstore in Pattani's Panare district. Afterwards, a suspicious package was placed in front of the business. A bomb disposal squad was inspecting the suspect package and searched the area for other possible hazards.

Meanwhile, Pattani's Yaring district, two villagers – Ahamayawaree Me-ngo and Pareeda Dahadee -- were shot and wounded by unknown gunmen. The victims are now being treated in hospital.

Meanwhile, in further developments in Nongjik district, two young men suspected of involvement in the bombing of an Army patrol have been detained by police for questioning in regard the incident which wounded three soldiers on a routine patrol as it passed a public health center. Both suspects are students of a local Muslim pondok school.
